Ana María Matute nació en Barcelona el 1925, vivió en Madrid y escribió novelas como: Los Abel, Pequeño teatro, Olvidado rey Gudú y Luciérnagas. También escribió cuentos cortos. El tema principal de sus novelas es la Guerra Civil. Murió en Barcelona el 2014.
